Will I do it right this time? Always a question at the back of my mind. Like so many, we start a new year with resolutions, hopes and some trepidation of what it will bring to us.

Many years have been much the same for me, work, family and responsibilities of that sort. So I have never given resolutions or the coming new year too much thought. But this year is different for me. Not so much as far as making resolutions, but in the fact that my life has changed and my artwork and business finally has moved to the forefront of my thoughts and wishes for the c...

This painting is close to my heart. It speaks of the bondage women endure under domestic violence and abuse.  It is about the turmoil, fear, and indecisiveness of the mind. I paint of courage to stand up, to resist, and most of all to escape with a fearlessness that will see them safely through to a new beginning.

The big move is complete! Big being the operative word here! Oh my, it was a horrendous affair. One I never want to face again. The move is complete, but the unpacking is before me and I am facing dozens of boxes of art materials and supplies stacked as high as the ceiling. If you have ever moved you know how I feel, overwhelmed at the least!

On the other hand, I am very excited about the new studio all painted white, clean and crisp. This move is a new beginning for Mark ( my loving and patient husband) and I. A new home, a new location, new friends, and j...

A soft and leisurely stroll to the studio one day, and the finding of a black feather in my path has brought change into my life as a painter. Now how would one black feather change the way an artist paints you say, but yet that is exactly what happened.

I have chickens on my farm so I see feathers all the time floating about, but this one was different and I suppose that's what caught my eye. It was much larger and of a color, unlike my birds. Feathers are so very beautiful and so I picked it up to looked closer, examined it closely, tucked it in my pocke...

The holiday season is always a blur of activity for me with family and business activities. In the midst of all of this activity I also participated in a group show at Vision Gallery. The open house/group showing was called "Blue Christmas" and featured about 150 works by various artists having the color blue in their works, as the thread that tied the theme together.

The Opening night was a success. There were just so many wonderful artworks on display, with the artists on hand to talk to our quest about our art and what makes it happen for us.

I am always...
